This concert that takes a journey through the rich musical heritage of Venetian composers from the late Renaissance and Baroque eras. Bellot Ensemble invites you to immerse yourself in the world of Monteverdi and the legacy he left. Throughout the concert you will hear the development and transition of compositions in Venice, the ‘Le nuove musiche’ style, the development and use of the Ground Bass, along with our own arrangements of Barbara Strozzi and Giovanni Legrenzi’s songs for violin and basso continuo.
